The CU Anschutz December Staff Employee of the Month is Chris Hrivnak, facilities coordinator in Facilities Management.

Read Chris's nominating statement:

Chris is widely praised for his exceptional professionalism, responsiveness and consistent kindness. Colleagues repeatedly highlight his willingness to go above and beyond – whether handling routine requests with efficiency or navigating complex, high-pressure situations with calm confidence. His positive attitude, clear communication and dependable presence foster trust and collaboration across the department.

A standout example cited by multiple nominations is his extraordinary response to a recent medical emergency in the office. Acting immediately and discreetly, Chris protected the privacy and well-being of staff, executed proper protocols, restored the workspace, including replacing carpet tiles – and stayed after hours to ensure the environment was fully prepared for the next day. His compassion, discretion and thoughtful follow-through strengthened the team's sense of community and support.

Beyond emergency situations, Chris’s everyday contributions – coordinating office moves, maintaining workspaces, solving logistical challenges and supporting staff needs of all kinds – are described as seamless, proactive and deeply valued. Working often behind the scenes, he takes great pride in creating a safe, efficient and welcoming environment where others can thrive.

Collectively, the nominations portray Chris as a team member who excels in his role and embodies service, compassion and excellence.
