On Oct. 14, CU Anschutz faculty gathered to celebrate their academic achievements at the annual Tenure and Promotion Luncheon. Hosted by Chancellor Don Elliman and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Rod Nairn, PhD, the event recognized faculty members who have earned tenure, received promotions or both.
Chancellor Elliman acknowledged the tremendous effort of all the honorees, “You have demonstrated excellent and meritorious performance in teaching, research or creative work, leadership, service and – in some cases – clinical care. It is your expertise and contributions that elevate CU Anschutz among the top tier of academic medical campuses and that shape the arc of our future success.”
Nairn, who is retiring in June, reflected on his career saying, “After almost five decades in academic life, I can tell you that among the most exciting and meaningful milestones for me were the achievement of tenure and promotion. And I hope that the same is true for each of you. This achievement should tell you that you have what it takes.”
During the luncheon, each honoree had the opportunity to introduce themselves and acknowledge a mentor who played a meaningful role in their professional journey.
