Why CU Anschutz is Where Dreams Live

While awards and honors are always something to celebrate, our greatest achievement is the transformative research happening every day at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Now more than ever, it’s essential to tell our story – and to highlight the vital role that higher education and scientific research play in shaping a better future.

In spring 2025, we launched the Where Dreams Live advertising campaign to embody the bold, transformative spirit of our campus. Showcasing the extraordinary people who make CU Anschutz a place where dreams become discoveries that change lives, the campaign continues to earn recognition with multiple national awards.

“To prepare for our campaign, we held discussions with people across campus at all levels,” Chancellor Don Elliman told Strategic Health Care Marketing. “What we heard was a resounding theme of what makes this campus extraordinary: the courage of our people to think and dream bigger.” 

The Where Dreams Live campaign proudly featured two exceptional faculty members:

• Manali Kamdar, MD, clinical director of lymphoma services in the CU Division of Hematology, leads clinical trials and advances lymphoma care for cancer patients.
• Wendy Tzou, MD, FACC, FHRS, professor of medicine and director of cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, specializes in the management of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and cardiac implantable electronic devices, improving lives for people with heart complications. 

Their stories exemplify the innovation and impact that define our campus.

As the campus pursues the bold goal of becoming 'Top 10 in 10 years', it’s crucial that we amplify our message and reach audiences far and wide. The Where Dreams Live campaign garnered nearly 60 million impressions in the greater Denver metro area in its first few months alone, across broadcast airwaves, streaming, billboards, social media, print ads, radio and more. We are well on our way to delivering on that goal, and we are currently working on a new iteration of the campaign for this fall.  

The success of Where Dreams Live is also a testament to the power of collaboration. From Facilities Management and University Police to executive assistants and beyond, the production of this campaign was made possible by the dedication and teamwork of individuals across our campus. Every contribution helped bring our vision to life. Thank you to all faculty, staff and students. You are what makes CU Anschutz a place where dreams live.
