Despite ample evidence that industry-sponsored school programs do not discourage teenagers from smoking, tobacco giant Altria continues to quietly fund these anti-smoking programs. Even ColoradoSPH Dean Jon Samet, expert on tobacco and health was surprised to learn about this program, “coming from the public health world where such funding is avoided”.
