Eva Bernstein, MD, a third-year resident in the CU Anschutz Family Medicine Residency Program, is the recipient of the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP) Family Medicine Resident of the Year award. Dr. Bernstein will receive this award on April 10, 2026, at the CAFP Annual Summit.
With this award, the CAFP recognizes a first, second, or third-year resident who demonstrates clinical, academic or teaching excellence and a dedication to patients and colleagues, and the community—highlighting their qualities as a leader, academic excellence, community service, and their accomplishments and quality in patient care.
Drawing from her nomination letter, Dr. Bernstein is recognized as an exceptional full‑scope clinician, delivering evidence‑based outpatient care and excelling in the inpatient management of complex patients, all while actively supporting junior residents and medical students.
Corey Lyon, DO, FAAFP, Professor of Family Medicine and Program Director for the CU Anschutz Family Medicine Residency Program enthusiastically supported Dr. Bernstein as an honoree, as it’s a testament to the outstanding leadership and dedication she shows as a family physician and resident.
"Dr. Bernstein is an amazing family physician, talented leader, compassionate provider, and impressive human,” said Dr. Lyon. “Our residency has improved and grown with her presence, and I look forward to watching the amazing things she will do after graduation. Dr. Bernstein is so deserving for this recognition, and I am so proud of her.”
Congratulations to Dr. Bernstein on this honor and accomplishment!
