The Lone Tree Primary Care Clinic (LTPC) hosted a site visit with Colorado State Representative Anthony Hartsook on January 6, 2026, offering a firsthand look at the role of clinical pharmacy in primary care. Representatives from the Colorado Pharmacists Society (CPS), including Kris Grant, CPS lobbyist with Meridian Public Affairs, and Emily Zadvory, CPS CEO, attended in support of the visit.

Organized by the Colorado Pharmacists Society, a visit to Lone Tree Primary Care gave Representative Hartsook an inside look at the wide-ranging roles pharmacists play in primary care and other healthcare settings beyond a traditional pharmacy. The organization aims to engage as many state lawmakers from Arapahoe and Douglas counties as possible. The event sought to increase lawmakers’ understanding of how pharmacists and clinicians work alongside physicians every day to provide high-quality patient care.

Jennifer Corliss, MD, FAAFP, Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at CU Anschutz and Director of UCHealth Lone Tree Primary Care, emphasized the honor of hosting Representative Hartsook:

“Lone Tree Primary Care was pleased to host state Representative Anthony Hartsook to highlight the vital role of clinical pharmacy within primary care. The integration of clinical pharmacists into primary care practices enhances quality of care and improves patient safety.  Dr. Sara Wettergreen, our clinical pharmacist at Lone Tree Primary Care and President of the Colorado Pharmacists Society, exemplifies the impact of clinical pharmacy in the primary care setting. Our patients greatly benefit from her work, which includes medication consultations, follow-up care for patients with high-risk chronic conditions, and, most recently, pharmacist-led Annual Wellness Visits.”

After the visit, Representative Hartsook shared his experience on Instagram, highlighting the collaborative care model at UCHealth.

“I had a fantastic discussion and tour of a UCHealth primary care facility. We saw the partnership between physicians and pharmacists that improves patient outcomes and lowers costs… Their goal is to provide the best possible care while keeping costs affordable. That is a great way to provide healthcare while reducing time and costs for patients.”
