Jill VanWyk, MD, Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Department of Family Medicine (CU DFM), is a contributing author of the recent Cambridge University Press article "Practical strategies for achieving system change in the US: lessons and insights from the CONQUEST quality improvement programme."

CONQUEST is a multinational quality improvement initiative which uses EMR data to identify patients who may have undiagnosed or under-recognized COPD. It was originally developed in the UK and now is being evaluated in the US in three different hospital systems.

When asked about this publication, Dr. VanWyk shared: "I find this work exciting because it acknowledges the challenges of incorporating large scale projects in different systems. Using the quality improvement framework allows individual sites to customize workflows while maintaining the shared objective of using medical record data to improve care for our patients with COPD."

Other members of the CU DFM associated with this publication: Wilson Pace, MD (emeritus professor).
