Sean Oser, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Family Medicine at CU Anschutz, has been selected to join the 2026 American Diabetes Association (ADA) National Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Committee. In this prestigious role, Dr. Oser will work alongside fellow committee members to advance research, promote best practices in care, and support progress in the fight to end diabetes.

The 2026 ADA National T1D Committee includes 18 healthcare professionals, researchers, advocates, and individuals with demonstrated expertise in diabetes and related fields. The committee will advise the ADA on groundbreaking T1D cure research, promote best practices for T1D management in primary care, and support the organization’s strategic priorities to improve outcomes for individuals living with T1D.

The committee is also responsible for producing the annual “State of Type 1 Diabetes Report,” which provides a comprehensive snapshot of the current T1D landscape. The report summarizes research breakthroughs, highlights best practices in clinical care, and outlines strategies to improve health outcomes.

Joining this team is especially meaningful to Dr. Oser as primary care has not always been represented in the T1D space.

“Given that many people with type 1 diabetes receive their care through primary care, it is particularly important to ensure balance among all who care for people with T1D, including primary care as well as endocrinology. The opportunity to represent primary care at this national level is a great honor, but also carries great responsibility, which I am excited to embrace.”

Congratulations to Dr. Oser on joining this impactful and exciting role with the ADA!
