“...This would make the case for making sure that warming centers are open at 32 degrees because the cold stress can cause considerable mortality among people experiencing homelessness — more so than people NOT experiencing homelessness," Josh Barocas, a doctor and associate professor of medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, wrote to all Denver City Council members.
On October 10, the Colorado School of Public Health released a modeling report for COVID-19 that described the disease's outlook in the state as uncertain for the rest of the year, given the potential for new variants to arise.
Scientists have found microplastics in donor blood and in the lungs of surgical patients. Although their effect on health isn't yet clear, some physicians have suggested that they cause excess inflammation, allergic reactions and cell death. Zhang and his team are also working with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus to further understand the impact of microplastics on people.
"I think the first step of the question is determining what that recommended serving size dose is going to be, because that visual representation will likely differ by product and by route of administration," Dr. Jesse Hinkley, a psychiatry professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, said during a MED rulemaking session on August 11.

Colorado has released new COVID-19 modeling data developed by a team that includes experts from state agencies, as well as the University of Colorado School of Medicine at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, and the University of Colorado in Denver and Boulder.
"Things that should be routine and easy are becoming much more complex," says Dr. Nina Ball, a recent graduate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and a consultant with the advocacy group Cobalt. "Life is changing as we all try to act in the most socially conscious way and avoid trips out of the house that are not necessary and keep distance from others to stop the spread of COVID-19."
