Non-EoE EGIDs are rare chronic inflammatory disorders of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, estimated at less than 200,000 cases annually in the United States, with unknown long-term consequences, Glenn Furuta, MD, professor of pediatrics at University of Colorado School of Medicine and section head of gastroenterology at the Children's Hospital, Aurora, Colorado, told Medscape Medical News.
