The Center for Surgical Innovation (CSI) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is one of the few facilities in the world equipped for 3D anatomic lectures and allows trainees to practice what they’ve learned in the cadaveric laboratory.

In November, the CSI and the Department of Neurosurgery at the CU School of Medicine, hosted the seventh annual “Microscopic and Endoscopic Approaches to the Skull Base” course. The three-day, hands-on course is directed by Samy Youssef, MD, PhD, MSc, FAANS, professor of neurosurgery and Skull Base Surgery director.

This year, John J. Reilly Jr., MD, dean of the CU School of Medicine, addressed the 24 resident attendees in neurosurgery and otolaryngology from 22 institutions in the United States. The course included 24 guest faculty who are among the most renowned skull base surgeons from the United States, Europe and Mexico.
