Pioneering Work on Campus Personalizes Prescription Drug Treatment

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a leader in the field of integrating pharmacogenomics into clinical care.

In the following interview, Christina Aquilante, PharmD, director of Pharmacogenomics Clinical Integration for the Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine, explains what pharmacogenomics is and what it means for improving the tailoring of medications to a patient’s unique genetic makeup. 

Aquilante, who is a professor at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, shares how CU Anschutz  and UCHealth are leading the way in advancing new pharmacogenomic discoveries that are transforming the way we prescribe medications.
