Nursing students begin the Fall Semester on Monday, August 28 at University of Colorado College of Nursing at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Students, both new and returning, are getting into a routine of going to classes and preparing for exams.

Many academic institutions – especially those in the healthcare field – were caught off guard during the coronavirus pandemic. The challenge for the University of Colorado College of Nursing wasn’t just a matter of social distancing and moving classes to remote learning. It was ensuring our students also obtained the clinical hours required by the State Board of Nursing to graduate.
The impact of coronavirus on our students has been far reaching. Clinics and inpatient facilities where our students typically complete their clinical hours shifted their focus to caring for coronavirus patients and suspended training.
Dear CU Anschutz Students,
As the Chancellor’s communication outlined yesterday, the Parking Department will be refunding all students on the Anschutz Medical Campus for any parking permit fees that were paid in advance from March 16, 2020 forward. This process will begin immediately, but will take time to complete as we must review each student account individually to determine the refund amount that is due. All refunds will be mailed to students in the form of a check to the current address on file. In order to ensure the most timely and accurate return of funds, we ask you to review your parking account online and provide the most current mailing address. After 27 years with the University of Colorado working on all four campuses, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff Leonard Dinegar told a group gathered for the College of Nursing Scholarship Luncheon on Nov. 22 that CU Nursing held a special place in his heart.

Bauer, PhD, will be in Colorado Feb. 4-5 to highlight his life-long work about health care and the new realm of possibilities for nurse practitioners and other qualified non-physician practitioners who are qualified to provide health care without supervision by physicians. Ever since his book, “Not What the Doctor Ordered” hit newsstands 25 years ago, Dr. Bauer has been in demand as a featured speaker at national conferences presenting the topic of enduring health reform and discussing ways to improve the medical marketplace.
