Experts say vaccination is strongest defense against measles

Samuel Dominguez, professor of pediatric infectious diseases at Children’s Hospital Colorado [and professor of pediatrics at CU School of Medicine] said that while the vaccine is safe, infants under the age of 1 already received immunity from their mother’s antibodies. These antibodies can interfere with the infant’s ability to respond to the vaccine.
