This article was originally featured on Walmart Health and Wellness Linkedin. Alumna Elizabeth Piehl, PharmD '22, has been working in community pharmacy as part of the Walmart team since she was a student.

On being recognized, she says "It feels fantastic. With as busy as my pharmacy is, it feels great to be recognized for the work and patient care that I am providing every day. The most rewarding part about my career is the chance to help my patients and provide the best care possible with everything I learned in pharmacy school."

Meet Elizabeth Piehl, a pharmacist who has been passionate about this profession since middle school. While pursuing her Pharmacy degree at The University of Colorado, she began her journey as a pharmacy intern at the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Aurora, Colorado. As an intern, what Elizabeth loved the most about working at Walmart was the support staff. The whole team championed her passion for providing the best healthcare to customers. Elizabeth also appreciated how Walmart respected her as a person and worked around her school schedule to ensure work-life balance.

Since graduating, Elizabeth has had two other roles within Walmart, a grad intern position, and a flex staff pharmacist role. She has recently been promoted to Pharmacy Manager, only a year after graduating with her Pharmacy degree. She credits Walmart as a place that not only fostered growth in her career, but also encouraged her passion for providing excellent healthcare services. The supportive environment and the cohesive team made her feel right at home and equipped her with the skills needed for her current role as Pharmacy Manager.
