'Tis the Season

Written by cupharmacy | November 16, 2015

'Tis the season for holiday parties, festivities and drives!  On Friday, Nov. 6, students hosted their annual holiday party at The Lobby -- a cool, fun and funky bar in downtown Denver. Kudos to the holiday party committee including Chelsea Mitchell, Paul Wallace, Kali Turrin, Mark Maeda and Marilyn Bahn for a job well done. A smattering of faculty and staff attended the event, as well as hundreds of students and their guests. Dean Altiere, Dr. David Thompson and Beverly Brunson, Dr. Danielle Rhyne and fiance Dr. Cy Fixen, Cecilia and Rick Romero, Dana Brandorff and Maury Smith, and Kayla Green represented staff and faculty. In addition to a buffet, live music and dancing, a photo booth recorded the memories. Check out photos in the gallery.

After showing some holiday cheer at the holiday party, it's now time to show our generosity with the annual Holiday Drive, presented by Student Council. This year, it's students versus faculty and staff with all items donated to the Colfax Community Network. The drive runs from 11/11 - 12/1. Everything from board games to stuffed animals, ear buds, nail polish, pajamas and socks are enthusiastically welcomed.  Points are assigned to each donated item and the team with the highest points wins coffee and bagels, served by the losing team who will be wearing fake mustaches in honor of Dean Altiere.  Drop off locations in the pharmacy building (1st floor DOCP office, 2nd floor DOPS office, 4th floor mailroom). May the best team win!
