While awards and honors are always worth celebrating, the true achievement behind every recognition is the innovative work happening every day at CU Anschutz. Through groundbreaking research, compassionate care and meaningful collaboration, our campus continues to make an impact far beyond Colorado.
That spirit is at the heart of Never Dream Alone, the latest phase of the CU Anschutz advertising campaign running now through the end of June. Filmed in partnership with the Colorado Symphony at Denver's Boettcher Concert Hall, the campaign uses music as a metaphor for discovery – showing how a single idea can grow into something transformative when people come together around a shared purpose.
The campaign was recognized in the 43rd Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards, earning honors in six categories:
With more than 4,300 entries submitted nationwide, the Healthcare Advertising Awards is the largest healthcare advertising competition in the country.
The collaboration between CU Anschutz and the Colorado Symphony brought the campaign's message to life through an original musical performance filmed at Boettcher Concert Hall. Just as breakthroughs in medicine require researchers, clinicians and educators to work together, music is created through the collective talents of many individuals working toward a common goal.
The campaign also introduced the first sonic signature for CU Anschutz. Titled Never Dream Alone, the original composition was created by Denver native and BAFTA Award-winning composer Austin Wintory and performed by 45 members of the Colorado Symphony, including Principal Cello Seoyoen Min and Conductor Christopher Dragon.
The success of Never Dream Alone is also a testament to the many faculty, staff and campus partners who helped bring the campaign to life. Their collective efforts reflect the same spirit of collaboration that drives innovation and advances health for communities across Colorado and beyond.
