Aurora, CO – Health Links® extends its deepest gratitude to Governor Jared Polis for proclaiming August 22, 2024, as Colorado Day of Total Worker Health®. This declaration underscores the critical importance of investing in the health, safety, and well-being of Colorado's workforce.

Colorado Day of Total Worker Health (TWH) highlights the essential role of a healthy workforce in preventing injuries and promoting well-being across the state. With over 3 million workers in Colorado dedicating countless hours to their jobs each day, this proclamation emphasizes the vital responsibility of employers to create and maintain safe and healthy work environments. Such efforts not only protect workers but also enhance productivity and organizational success.

Governor Polis emphasized the importance of workplace wellness programs in fostering a productive and sustainable workforce. He noted that in 2023, 58 percent of small firms and 94 percent of large companies in the U.S. had a wellness program. By recognizing Colorado Day of Total Worker Health®, he encourages all organizations to implement and celebrate initiatives prioritizing worker health and safety.

As part of a National Center of Excellence for Total Worker Health, Health Links has celebrated the commitment of Colorado businesses to TWH every year at the Health Links Annual Event. Dr. Liliana Tenney, DrPH, MPH, Co-Founder and Director of Health Links, acknowledges, "The governor's proclamation is a powerful call to action for everyone in the state to recognize and celebrate the importance of worker health and safety. It's a reminder that investing in Total Worker Health is essential for the well-being of our workforce and the prosperity of our communities." This year’s event will be held on August 22, 2024, on the Anschutz Medical Campus in coordination with the proclamation.

Governor Polis’ proclamation serves as a vital reminder of the importance of prioritizing worker health and safety. It calls upon all organizations and individuals in Colorado to recognize the critical role of a healthy workforce in building a thriving and sustainable economy.
