The University of Colorado Anschutz School of Dental Medicine is proud to welcome the DDS Class of 2030, an accomplished group of 80 future oral health professionals selected from a highly competitive applicant pool of over 2,800 candidates.
Representing communities from across Colorado and beyond, this incoming class brings strong academic credentials, a variety of life experiences, and a shared commitment to improving oral health.
"This class represents the future of dentistry and the values that define our school," said Dean Denise Kassebaum, DDS, MS. "Their academic excellence and commitment to service will strengthen our learning community and ultimately improve the health and well-being of the patients and communities they serve."
This class includes military service members, first-generation college students, and students from pathway programs like the MHA Pathway to Dentistry Program.
The majority of students are Colorado residents, with the remaining coming from 19 other states. More than 20% of students were raised in rural communities, while the majority come from suburban or urban areas. This range of perspectives will enrich classroom discussions, collaborative learning, and patient care experiences throughout their dental education.
Academically, the Class of 2030 demonstrated exceptional achievement, entering with an average overall GPA of 3.74 and excellent DAT scores. The gender ratio is approximately 60% of students identifying as female to 40% identifying as male.
Over the next four years, students will build the clinical skills, professionalism and critical thinking needed to care for patients and address evolving oral health challenges. Through simulated patient experiences, hands-on clinical experiences, and community engagement and interprofessional collaborations, they will prepare to serve individuals and communities throughout Colorado and beyond.
As they begin their dental education, the DDS Class of 2030 joins a tradition of innovation, excellence and service that has defined the CU Anschutz School of Dental Medicine for more than five decades. The school looks forward to supporting their growth as future oral health leaders and celebrating their achievements in the years ahead.
