The School of Dental Medicine is pleased to welcome Petros Yoon, DDS, as an assistant professor (C/T) in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences and Surgical Dentistry.
Yoon brings an impressive academic background, having earned his DDS here at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and completed further specialized training in oral medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital through Harvard Medical School and School of Dental Medicine. His clinical experience also includes a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. In addition to his Colorado and Massachusetts dental licenses, Yoon has achieved Part A certification from the American Board of Oral Medicine.
Yoon’s research focuses on oral chronic graft-versus-host disease and therapy-related oral toxicities, reflecting his commitment to advancing oral medicine and improving patient outcomes. His research has been widely recognized, with recent work published in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology. Throughout his career, Yoon has received numerous accolades, including the Community Service Award from Harvard and the Academy of Dental Materials Award from the University of Colorado. As an active member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine, Yoon is passionate about enhancing access to oral healthcare and looks forward to contributing to both the academic and clinical success of the school.
