Dr. Kevin Patterson is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. He completed his training in oral and maxillofacial surgery and medical school at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has been practicing in Colorado since 1998.
He has been a leader in organized dentistry since 2013, serving as an officer for the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (CSOMS), the Metro Denver Dental Society (MDDS), and the CDA. He serves on the CDA Finance Council and is very involved with the CDA Government Relations Council. He has been CDA vice president and president-elect, before taking his current role as president of the CDA. He plans to focus his tenure as CDA president on continuing work on the CDA’s strategic plan and its mission to foster the success of a diverse membership while advancing public oral health.
He has a special interest in providing care for individuals who may not have the means to obtain care, and volunteers through Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND), and Dental Lifeline Network. He also regularly volunteers with the Colorado Mission of Mercy’s annual dental clinic.
Along with practicing full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Patterson is an associate professor at the CU School of Dental Medicine in the Department of Surgical Dentistry and General Practice Residency Program and is now a member of the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine Leadership Council. He is the past chair of the KIND Executive Committee/Board of Directors, is a board member of the JP Opioid Interaction Awareness Alliance and is on the advisory board for Physicians for Responsible Opioid Prescribing.
