The Multicenter Orthopaedic Outcomes Network (MOON) Shoulder Group, of which Sourav Poddar, MD, is a participating member, will be recognized with the 2024 Kappa Delta Ann Doner Vaughn Award for shifting the way physicians treat patients with atraumatic, symptomatic rotator cuff tears. When asked about his participation with this group, Sourav said:
“I was humbled many years ago to be asked to join the MOON Shoulder Group for this study led by Dr. Kuhn. Locally it has been a privilege working alongside Dr. McCarty and many great colleagues over the years to make my small contribution to this study as a primary sports medicine specialist. The work has helped shift perspective on which patients with rotator cuff injuries may respond to non-operative management.”
