Dr. Josina (Jo) Romero O'Connell - a member of the Department of Family Medicine's Undergraduate Medical Education team - has been named the 2022 Remarkable Woman of Denver.
Dr. O'Connell was nominated by one of her students and says she is floored by the honor.
"Suffice it to say I am just flabbergasted," said O'Connell, "I am so humbled by this because I have modeled my life after truly remarkable women in my life’s path. I am not sure what I can say except I know a lot more women who are far more deserving of this than I am. I my being recognized serves as any kind of inspiration for women out there, then that is all I can ask for."
