In response to the scale of the need, Cherry Creek has partnered with Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado School of Medicine to open its own day treatment facility for district students with serious mental health issues. The facility will be able to treat about 60 kids at a time and is slated to open in the fall of next year.
It’s the reason the University of Colorado School of Medicine, University Hospital, Children’s Hospital, VA Medical Center and some of the most critical research projects in the world are on the Aurora Anschutz Campus.
Four scientists from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora were selected as Boettcher Investigators class of 2019, giving them the distinction of the 10th class to be named. Each recipient will be guaranteed through the Boettcher Foundation’s Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards program a $235,000 grant to continue their research for up to three years. The four were among a total of seven investigators to become part of the class.
