“Prenatal cannabis use (use of products containing THC and CBD during pregnancy) is concerning due to the risk of adverse consequences for offspring. Significantly less is known about prenatal use of CBD-only products,” Devika Bhatia, MD, assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and colleagues wrote. “However, because CBD product sales have increased dramatically in recent years, and CBD is perceived as safer than other substances, CBD use during pregnancy may occur at significant rates.”

According to Rachel M. Frank, MD, associate professor in the department of orthopedic surgery and the director of the Joint Preservation Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, “recent interest is namely due to the fact that we have recognized which tear patterns are most appropriate for repair, and we have narrowed down how to do the repair from a technical and biologic aspect.”

“We were surprised to see such a large increase in the odds of a crash associated with incident migraine,” Carolyn G. DiGuiseppi, MD, MPH, PhD, a professor in the department of epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health, told Healio. “Prior studies have shown small increases in the risk of motor vehicle crash injuries in people with prevalent migraine but did not examine recently diagnosed migraine. This suggests there is a high-risk period for people immediately following their diagnosis with migraine.”

“Based on our data, we do not know exactly why this significant increase in pediatric trampoline fractures occurred,” Nancy Hadley-Miller, MD, professor and pediatric orthopedic surgeon at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Children’s Hospital of Colorado, told Infectious Diseases in Children. “An increase in participation at places of recreation or sport may be a contributing factor.”
