“The longer you leave patients on these medications, the more likely they are to develop cardiomyopathy, but the risk of that is very low,” said study lead author Pauline Gerard. She's a second-year medical student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
“Our research demonstrates the long-term benefits of the COVID-19 vaccines to reduce inflammation even after a breakthrough infection,” co-author Alison Abraham, associate professor of epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, said in a university news release.
For instance, they may not take the insulin they’re prescribed due to access problems or cost, the insulin may get hot and not work or there may be a problem with the insulin pump, says Dr. Tamara K.
