Excitement filled the air on the morning of May 27 as University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus graduates, their families and loved ones lined the lawn of Boettcher Commons. It was the first fully in-person spring commencement ceremony in two years, and everyone wanted to celebrate.
The commencement ceremony kicked off with Chancellor Don Elliman greeting the graduates.
“As you embark on your careers, we celebrate your accomplishments with you and hope that you will remain lifelong learners, healers and pioneering leaders in health and medicine,” Elliman told the CU Anschutz class of 2022. “We welcome you into the family of University of Colorado alumni and hope that the educational foundation and the personal relationships that you built here will serve you well as you pursue your dreams.”
University of Colorado President Todd Saliman congratulated the graduates, saying, “You are the future of healthcare. Today is a day to celebrate.”
Awards were presented for outstanding excellence in teaching to various faculty members. Chancellor Elliman and the academic deans conferred degrees to the graduates from the College of Nursing, Colorado School of Public Health, School of Dental Medicine, School of Medicine, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Graduate School.
