Psychiatry Chair Neill Epperson On “We Are Unstoppable” Podcast

Written by Matthew Hastings | May 13, 2020

This week the new podcast We Are Unstoppable from Colorado sports radio hosts and personalities Les Shapiro and Vic Lombardi features C. Neill Epperson, MD, the Robert Freedman Endowed Professor and chair of the Department of Psychiatry.

Epperson talks with Shapiro and Lombardi about what drives her work to improve mental health research and evidence-based treatment in both Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. In an episode that also includes an appearance by Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin discussing her personal mental health, Epperson discusses the role stigma still plays with mental health and how “being honest with our mental health isn’t a weakness.” They also discuss the mental-health impact of COVID-19, noting how it is a “different kind of stress” and the resources people can access for help given its unique nature.
