Bajaj Named Chief Quality Officer of Children's Hospital Colorado

Lalit Bajaj, MD, MPH, will be assuming the role of Chief Quality Officer for Children’s Hospital Colorado starting in January 2024.

Dr. Bajaj will oversee the Department of Patient Safety, while continuing his oversight of the Department of Clinical Effectiveness and Department of Diversity, Health Equity & Inclusion. These departments will now constitute the Division of Quality, and Dr. Bajaj will be working to complete the medical and administrative dyads in each of those departments over the coming months. 

Dr. Bajaj joined Children’s Colorado in 1996 and brings over two decades of clinical and quality expertise, sustainable program development and an understanding of operational and financial issues associated with delivering high-quality care. He is also internationally recognized for his expertise and is one of the authors of the first-ever Pediatric Emergency Medicine Choosing Wisely list intended to help physicians and patients across North America reduce unnecessary medical care.

Dr. Bajaj will be partnering closely with Chief Medical Officer David Brumbaugh, MD, and Chief Nursing Executive Pat Givens in driving the safest, most effective and equitable care for Children's Hospital Colorado patients systemwide. He will be working with the leaders of Patient-Family Experience, Enterprise Project Management Office, Analytic Resource Center, Information Technology, Community Health and Advocacy and many other teams across the enterprise to ensure prioritization and support of coordinated initiatives to improve outcomes for all patients and families.
