Freeman Appointed to HRSA Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry

Brandi Freeman, MD, MS, associate professor, Section of General Academic Pediatrics and vice chair for diversity, equity and inclusion, Department of Pediatrics, University of Colorado School of Medicine, has been appointed as a member of the Health Resources & Services Administration’s (HRSA) Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry (ACTPCMD) for a three-year term. As a member of this esteemed committee, Freeman will play a vital role in providing valuable insights and recommendations on training in primary care medicine.

The ACTPCMD, composed of a diverse group of professionals from various primary care fields serves as a critical advisory council to the Department of Health and Human Services under the Public Health Service (PHS) Act. Through collaboration and expert guidance, the committee aims to enhance the quality of primary care services and improve healthcare outcomes for individuals across the nation.

Furthermore, the committee is involved in formulating, releasing and enforcing performance metrics and guidelines for long-term evaluations of programs under Part C of Title VII of the PHS Act and proposing funding levels for programs related to health professions education and training.
