Hats off to the CU Pharmacy Class of 2024! This year, 123 students from the traditional PharmD program and 23 from the Distance Degrees program received their Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. Five students received their Doctor of Philosophy, and six students received their Master of Science in a ceremony held at the CU Anschutz Graduate School.
The PharmD commencement, held at the CU Anschutz Library Commons, included remarks from Assistant Dean Dr. Gina Moore, Chancellor’s Teaching Recognition Award recipient Dr. Sunny Linnebur, President's Excellence in Teaching Award recipient Dr. Tyree Kiser, graduating new Doctor of Pharmacy and Class President, Nicholas Perez, and Distance Degree student of the Year, Anna Maria Opala. Other speakers included Drs. Brian Hemstreet, Shaun Gleason, Kimberly Stultz, and Debbie Gallegos.
In Linnebur's speech she talked about self-care developing patient-centered pharmacists. Perez encouraged his classmates to bravely step into this next chapter.
