Hello! My name is Kristen Haeger, and I am an incoming P1 student at the CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Arvada, a suburb of Denver. I recently graduated from the University of Denver (DU) with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to work in the medical field, with a focus on helping patients overcome their illnesses and injuries.

During my time at DU, my interests in medicine expanded, as I became fascinated with the capabilities of the human body, and how certain substances and circumstances can alter the body’s normal conditions. I specifically started looking into PharmD programs after shadowing several clinical pharmacists, and was intrigued with the pharmacist’s role in patient care.

My experiences, as well as my family’s experiences as patients at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, as well as the progressive faculty and curriculum, is what drew me to apply to the CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy. I knew that if I attended CU to earn my PharmD, I would be learning the most pertinent information from leaders in the field, have access to some of the best healthcare facilities in the US, and witness clinical applications learned in the classroom. I am excited to be a part of this extremely advanced community, and am looking forward to learning and working with some of the brightest minds in the world on this campus.
