CU Pharmacy at AACP's Pharmacy Education 2018 Annual Meeting

The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy's (AACP) annual meeting, Pharmacy Education 2018, was held July 21-25 in Boston and CU Pharmacy received several awards and had presentations and posters from students, faculty, and staff. 

At the meeting:

  • The school was awarded the Lawrence C. Weaver Transformative Community Service Award.  Faculty members Gina Moore, PharmD, and Laura Borgelt, PharmD accepted the award. Read more about our award submission.
  • The school received the AACP Award for Excellence in Assessment thanks to work by Eric Gilliam, PharmD, Jason Brunner, PhD, Wesley Nuffer, PharmD, Toral Patel, PharmD and Megan Thompson, PharmD. The award recognizes outstanding Doctor of Pharmacy assessment programs for their progress in developing and applying evidence of outcomes as part of the ongoing evaluation and improvement of pharmacy professional education. The manuscript our faculty submitted is titled: Unique Assessments for Unique Experiences: Content Validation of Three Assessment Tools for Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience Rotations
  • Four Walmart Scholars from CU Pharmacy, the most of any school! Congratulations to:
    • Fiona Wong – 2018 graduate; current PGY1 Resident, University of California, Davis
    • Marina Maes – 2017 graduate; current PGY2 Ambulatory Care Resident, University of Colorado
    • Natalie Rosario – current PGY2 Ambulatory Care Resident, University of Colorado
    • Kyle Troksa – 2017 graduate; current PGY2 Ambulatory Care Resident, University of Colorado
  • 12 presentations were given by 12 unique CU Pharmacy faculty and staff.
  • 11 faculty posters and one school poster involving 21 CU Pharmacy faculty and staff, along with 19 collaborators from other schools or institutions

Next year's meeting will be held in Chicago July 13-19.
