minute read

Written by Stephanie Carlson on December 27, 2017

Just one chip, that's all it is, but it is a chip made with one of the hottest peppers on the planet. The Paqui Carolina Reaper Madness chip is made with the Carolina Reaper pepper, which has an average Scoville Scale score of over 1.5 million. Wilbur Scoville is the American pharmacist that developed the method for measuring heat in peppers. Last year, and again this fall, people have tried to win the Paqui #OneChipChallenge. Want to know how to impress your family and friends and win the spicy chip challenge? Dr. Peter Rice, Associate Professor at CU Pharmacy, explains the science behind it all and tells you how to win! Who knows, you might get one at a holiday party this year, hopefully, you've been nice!
