A familiar face returns to the Center
The Center for Bioethics and Humanities is thrilled to welcome back Rosa Lawrence, who rejoins the team as a Senior Professional Research Assistant (PRA) as of January 13, 2026. Lawrence previously played an integral role at the Center, and her return marks an exciting next chapter for her and our research and education missions.
Expanding expertise through graduate study
Over the past two years, Lawrence stepped away from the Center to focus on earning her master’s degree in medical anthropology from CU Denver—an experience that deepened her interdisciplinary perspective and sharpened her commitment to equity‑driven, empirical research. She anticipates graduating this May.
“I am excited to rejoin the Center because it is such a unique place to work, surrounded by creative, thoughtful, multidisciplinary coworkers,” Lawrence said.
Supporting research and education initiatives
In her renewed role, Lawrence will collaborate with CU School of Medicine Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, Christine Baugh, PhD, MPH, on the Humanities in Health Certificate Program and with Eric Campbell, PhD, on the research team, contributing her expertise across projects that bridge health policy, ethics, and the lived experiences of patients and communities. Her work will support several of the Center’s missions: to improve health and health care through education, empirical research and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Rosa’s supervisor, research faculty Christine Baugh, PhD, expressed strong enthusiasm about having her back:
