July Staff Employee of the Month

The CU Anschutz July Staff Employee of the Month is Maddie Parker, academic services program manager in the CU Anschutz Graduate School.

Maddie stepped up to lead the Graduate School's convocation planning and implementation following a staff departure, successfully enhancing the graduate and guest experience while also planning the event under budget. Through careful planning, process documentation and the creation of a detailed backward-planning calendar, she ensured every aspect of the event was thoughtfully coordinated.

When unexpected weather forced the main commencement ceremony into the same venue reserved for the Graduate School convocation, setup time was reduced from the usual 90 minutes to just 30 minutes. Thanks to Maddie’s exceptional preparation, organization and delegation, the venue was transformed with time to spare. Following the event, Graduate School Associate Dean Bruce Mandt described it as the smoothest and most impressive Graduate School convocation to date.

Beyond her convocation leadership, Maddie is a valued partner to students, program administrators and stakeholders across the Graduate School. Her dedication, reliability and commitment to excellence make a lasting impact every day and exemplify the spirit of the Employee of the Month award.
