Elizabeth Kessler, MD, led a randomized, placebo-controlled trial at the University of Colorado Cancer Center—one of 14 participating sites—evaluating muscadine grape skin extract (MPX) in men with biochemically recurrent prostate cancer and the SOD2 Ala/Ala variant. Although the study showed no significant effect on PSA slope or secondary endpoints, it underscored the importance of well-designed clinical trials in assessing natural therapies.
