The University of Colorado Cancer Center is thrilled to announce that Dinner in White will return to Denver on August 10, 2019! The event, which is held at a secret location, raises awareness of the life-saving research, clinical trials, and cutting-edge treatments at the CU Cancer Center.

Following the Parisian “Diner en Blanc” theme, Dinner in White guests purchase their tickets in advance without any idea where it will take place. It is not until the day of the event that attendees learn the exact location. Once the location is released, guests “in the know” make their way to an unforgettable evening!
A night of inspiration

This year the CU Cancer Center is excited to welcome Denver City Councilman Albus Brooks as the keynote speaker for Dinner in White. Brooks was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma, a rare type of cancer, in 2016 and had a recurrence in 2018. Now, he is on a mission to raise awareness about the importance of cancer research.

“I love these events because they bring folks together to focus on cancer and how we can defeat it,” says Councilman Brooks.

A night like no other

This year’s Dinner in White event is set to stand apart from previous events. While signature features, such as the 20ft white Eiffel Tower and “Arc de Triomphe” wall of wine will be returning, there are plenty of surprises in store!

“Each year we try to come up with something new and exciting for our guests,” says Taylor Abarca, co-chair of Dinner in White and the social media web specialist at the CU Cancer Center. “This year is no exception! I don’t want to give away details, but guests are sure to be in for a few surprises.”

Similar to Diner en Blanc in Paris, guests have the option to either bring their own picnic dinner or have their meal provided by Relish Catering Company. All guests will enjoy light appetizers, a selection of wine from Infinite Monkey Theorem and various Colorado-brewed beers. A signature cocktail created by cancer survivor Jimmy Zannon, will be waiting for guests as they arrive. The evening will be completed with a delectable dessert bar from local Denver company The Treatery. Guests are encouraged to dress in all white attire, but this is not required!

“It has been amazing to see the Denver community embracing Dinner in White – We have sold out the past two years,” says Abarca. “It is truly such a fun and unique event that raises awareness for the CU Cancer Center. The center is an invaluable resource that serves patients with cancer in our state and beyond!”
