The Hunt Goes On for Better Ways to Treat Cancer in Children

CU Cancer Center member Meg Macy, MD, led an international trial testing whether adding DFMO to standard chemoimmunotherapy could improve outcomes for children with relapsed or refractory neuroblastoma. The study confirmed strong results for the current DIT regimen and revealed DFMO reduced treatment-related pain and Macy says the search continues for more effective therapies, supported by CU’s robust Experimental Therapeutics Program.
