On August 13, 2025, the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s (CUSOM) Academy of Medical Educators (AME) welcomed its latest round of inductees at the AME New Member Induction Ceremony. Twenty Family Medicine faculty members—including both new inductees and existing members with new designations—were honored by the AME. Among them was David Nowels, MD, MPH/MSPH, and Deborah Seymour, PsyD, who achieved Legacy status, a prestigious distinction that requires having served as a leader of a national organization.
The AME provides a home base and visible mechanism for faculty to support and enhance all educational programs at the CUSOM, enabling them to teach and assess learners, develop innovative curricula, become transformative education leaders, and conduct research in medical education science.
Below is a list of the honored faculty members inducted into AME, whose membership focuses on promoting educational excellence, innovation, mentorship, and community across CU. (Names are listed from level of designation.)
