Giving Back for Health, an initiative of the Diversity & Health Equity Program, is back with a new opportunity to lend support in our community.

The Aurora Public Schools (APS) Welcome Center offers a variety of services to students, families, and schools in order to achieve their mission of assisting APS refugee and immigrant families in becoming more familiar with and accustomed to the Aurora Public Schools System.

The work the APS Welcome Center addresses two of the social determinants of health by providing a support structure to refugee and immigrant families, and by helping those families with resources around education to ensure their students are successful learners.

We are collecting cash/checks (made out to Aurora Public Schools), #2 pencils, wide rule paper, crayons, markers, folders with pockets, new/unopened hygiene products, large/small backpacks (no logo), and more!

Please contact Tessa Carlson for a complete list of needed items.

We will be collecting donations through March 31, 2020. The collection box is located in the DFM reception area across from Kasie Holcomb’s desk on the third floor of Administration Office Building 1 on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
