CO-CEAL is the Colorado site for the NIH Community Engaged Alliance (CEAL) Program. It was designed to bring together CCTSI-CE and clinical trials infrastructures to enhance our ability to reach Colorado’s most vulnerable populations with COVID-19 vaccines, testing and therapeutics. Many members of the DFM have participated in this important endeavor.
Recently, two papers were published relating to this work. The first, "Factors in COVID-19 vaccine uptake in five racial/ethnic Colorado communities: A report from the Colorado CEAL project," published with PLOS ONE, explores the barriers and motivators for getting the COVID-19 vaccine during the fall of 2021. The second, "Innovations in Community-Engaged Messaging from the Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Against Covid-19," published by Gavin Publishers in the Journal of Community Medicine & Public Health, focuses on the messaging tactics developed during the Covid-19 pandemic to engage marginalized groups.
