The annual U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals rankings were introduced in 2007 and offer guidance for families of children seeking the best medical care for rare or life-threatening illnesses. The U.S. News methodology factors objective measures such as patient outcomes, including mortality and infection rates, as well as health equity and available clinical resources and compliance with best practices. The top 50 medical centers are ranked in 10 specialties surveyed on nearly 2,000 data questions, as well as a reputation survey sent to thousands of pediatric specialists nationwide.
