New Valve Replacement Procedure Offers Hope

AURORA, Colo. – The University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) Cardiac & Vascular Center is among only a handful of locations in the U.S. offering an innovative procedure to replace narrowed or diseased aortic heart valves non-surgically using a catheter. The first two transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedures (TAVR) performed in Colorado were done at the University of Colorado Hospital on March 13, 2012.

School of Public Health begins recruitment - National Children’s Study

School of Dental Medicine receives $1.5 million for kids' oral health

The University of Colorado Denver’s School of Dental Medicine announced today a new gift aimed at improving children’s oral health. The Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation has pledged $1.5 million to create an endowed chair in Early Childhood Caries Research. Caries, also known as tooth decay or cavities, is the most common chronic disease of children aged six to 11. Caries is largely preventable.

New blood bank offers hope for multiple sclerosis research

The answers to the mysteries of multiple sclerosis (MS) may one day be found in an area where research has yet to explore. Blood. Today, the Rocky Mountain MS Center located at the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus became home to a new program that will collect blood samples of people with MS and their families. The blood bank will be the ninth repository for the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis which is building the largest openly accessible, multi-disciplinary repository every assembled for us in MS research.
