What you need to know:

T-Street Kitchen & Cafe and Central are now open and serving the CU Anschutz campus community.

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has established itself as a national leader in retail offerings on a life sciences campus with the addition of two new dining options. In partnership with Health Hospitality Partners, a St. Louis-based real estate development and operating company working exclusively in the healthcare sector, CU Anschutz leadership began this endeavor to provide best-in-class hospitality amenities in 2019; with both T-Street Kitchen & Cafe and Choice Market now open and serving guests (in addition to Root & Sprig and Woodgrain Bagels), that journey has reached another major milestone.

“This is an exciting time for our university community on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, with new, healthy, top-notch food offerings available during and outside of traditional work hours, when our faculty, students, staff and guests are needing options,” said Terri C. Carrothers, executive vice chancellor for administration and finance, CFO at CU Anschutz.

Breakfast, dinner, matcha and more

T-Street Kitchen & Cafe, located on the ground floor of the new Anschutz Health Sciences Building (AHSB), is a contemporary but casual full-service American restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites alongside a full bar program.

“Whether grabbing a coffee and pastry to start the day, setting up a catered banquet event or simply unwinding after a long day with a glass of wine at happy hour, our team at T-Street Kitchen & Cafe is excited to be serving up quality to guests from throughout the CU Anschutz community,” said Dan Shipp, CEO of Vibe Concepts, the locally-owned and operated family-run hospitality group behind the restaurant. Additionally, the cafe extension of the restaurant, located across the lobby, offers the first specialty Kaldi's Coffee program in Colorado, smoothies, firepot tea, matcha and a menu of assorted breakfast and lunch grab-and-go dishes made fresh daily.

Choice Market: food 'for the soul'

Another local brand, Choice Market, is launching its convenient 24/7 frictionless Mini-Mart on the ground floor of Research 2 and has opened Central, a Latin kitchen serving breakfast and lunch. Whether shopping for locally sourced groceries or everyday necessities, the food you choose at Choice is fresh: The team prepares and stocks as much as possible using fresh, sustainably raised food (and stock their shelves with it too).

“At Choice, we firmly believe that food is medicine for the soul, and this innovative format will provide doctors, researchers, nurses, students and employees with around-the-clock access to high-quality and nutritious options,” said Choice founder and CEO Mike Fogarty.

Partnership: a 'forward-thinking vision'

“Seeing these exciting new offerings open their doors in our most ambitious project to date is further proof that healthcare and hospitality are more inextricably linked than many had previously believed… we’re deeply grateful to the leadership teams at CU Anschutz and all of our operating partners for their forward-thinking vision and commitment to bringing it to life,” said Cory Sullivan, co-founder and chief operating officer at Health Hospitality Partners. “We couldn’t be more excited to continue forging ahead on our mission to bring hospitality to healthcare here in Aurora and beyond.”
