Button batteries pose hidden dangers beyond choking

Toys, remote controls and many everyday items often contain button batteries that can be more dangerous than parents realize. Robert Kramer, MD, Director of Endoscopy and of Clinical Operations for the Digestive Health Institute, says these small batteries can cause a burn injury that continues even after the battery is removed.
