Federal vaccine guidance is changing, but Colorado was prepared to push back

David Higgins, a pediatrician and preventive medicine specialist at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, said that, ideally, states would not need to have separate vaccine recommendations. He added that with “the dismantling of ACIP,” the Colorado law is necessary. “I’m glad that Colorado took these proactive steps to safeguard evidence-based vaccine recommendations,” Higgins said.
