Knupp, professor of pediatrics and neurology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado, said the study is particularly important given the ongoing shortage of pediatric neurologists — a problem that “is probably going to get worse before it gets better.” This shortage means it “takes longer and longer” for families to secure an appointment with a specialist, she added.
