The International Journal on Child Maltreatment: Research, Policy and Practice has released a special issue entitled “Special Issue on the Kempe Center: Celebrating 50 Years of Research

In the special issue, the content showcases a selection of the groundbreaking work being done by the Kempe Center, as a leading institution in the field of child maltreatment. Through a collection of articles, it highlights the journal's commitment to bridging the gap between research, policy, and practice. The contributions within this issue serve as a catalyst for collaboration and knowledge-sharing among professionals working in the field of child maltreatment.

The Kempe Center and Foundation, along with the Haruv Institute, launched The International Journal on Child Maltreatment: Research, Policy and Practice (IJCM) with the first issue published in November 2018.

The IJCM was conceptualized under the visionary leadership of Dr. Gary B. Melton, the founding editor. Driven by the belief that the field of child maltreatment needed a translational journal, Dr. Melton envisioned a platform that could absorb and circulate work representing the diverse perspectives and expertise in the field. IJCM serves as a valuable resource for administrators, practitioners, and researchers who are actively seeking evidence and insights to guide their efforts in improving outcomes for children and families, as well as the workforce and systems that serve them.
