Rotavirus Vaccine: Greasing the Wheels

In an invited commentary, Jessica Cataldi and Sean O’Leary from the University of Colorado agree with authors’ findings regarding opportunities to improve vaccination rates, particularly in the NICU setting. Furthermore, they state the recent guidance from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to remove the routine recommendation for rotavirus vaccination is misguided. Similarly, they point out that suppression of public health data, and decreases in vaccine-related research funding, raise concerns about the future of valuable networks like NVSN.
